Our Story

Kent House Kitchen & Provisions was created in August 2015 to provide food service, education, and employment opportunities to adults with intellectual disabilities who are served by Kent Center. We serve a freshly prepared, home-style lunch Monday through Friday to our Residential and Day Program Individuals as well as the Staff of the Kent Center. We are located within the Kent Center building at 215 Scheeler Road, Chestertown, MD, 21620.  The entrance to our banquet hall and kitchen is at the right-side rear of the building.

In April 2016, we modified our moniker to Kent House Kitchen, Café & Bakery and started a Corporate Box Lunch Program with the enthusiastic support of the Management and Employees of Dixon Valve and Coupling. In July of that year, this program was expanded to serve all businesses in the greater-Chestertown area. Tuesday through Thursday, we offer a filling, scratch-made "lunch box" which typically consists of a hearty, artisan sandwich, entrée, or salad, along with complimentary side items, and either fruit or a treat from our bakery. We offer free lunchtime delivery to all businesses in the greater-Chestertown area.

In September 2016, Kent House Kitchen, Café, & Bakery added catering to our repertoire. We are available for small and large events alike. Please keep us in mind for your next business luncheon, meeting, or special event. Our Banquet Hall is available to rent as well here at Kent Center.

2018 marks another chapter in the Kitchen’s life. Our focus going forward is to continue the best of what has come before, combined with the promotion of new ideas and exploration of the lighter side of food. In addition to offering more alternative protein and plant-based menu items, we will present items from our Kitchen Partners – local businesses that use the Kitchen to prepare their products. Happy Chicken Bakery, one of our first partners, will offer delicious baked items through our website on a regular basis.
